44 Days of Turmoil: Tottenham Sack Igor Tudor as Relegation Fears Grow
In a decision that reflects the growing pressure in North London, Tottenham Hotspur have officially parted ways with head coach Igor Tudor on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
Tudor’s time at the club lasted just 44 days. He was brought in during February to steady the team after the exit of Thomas Frank, but things only got worse during his short spell in charge.
A Difficult Run of Results
Tudor’s time at Spurs was marked by poor results and defensive struggles. In seven matches across all competitions, the team managed just one win. That victory came in a 3 to 2 match against Atlético Madrid, but it was not enough to keep them in the Champions League.
In the Premier League, the numbers were even more worrying. Spurs failed to win a single game, recording two draws and three losses. They scored nine goals but conceded 20, and did not keep a clean sheet during his time in charge.

The final setback came with a 3 to 0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest. After that match, Tudor received the heartbreaking news of his father’s passing, which meant he could not attend the post match press conference.
A Club in Trouble
Tottenham now find themselves in a dangerous position. With only seven matches left in the season, they sit in 17th place, just one point above the relegation zone.

For a club that recently competed at the top level and even won a European trophy last season, the situation is alarming. Teams around them, including West Ham United, Nottingham Forest, and Leeds United, are all picking up form, making the fight for survival even tougher.
Who Could Replace Him

With the international break offering a short pause before their next match, Tottenham have already begun searching for a new manager.
One of the leading candidates is Roberto De Zerbi, who is currently without a club after leaving Marseille. His attacking style is seen as a possible way to revive the team.

Adi Hütter has also been mentioned, though he is reportedly hesitant and may prefer to wait until the summer.
Other options include experienced managers like Sean Dyche, as well as former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp for a short term role. There is also the possibility of turning to an internal solution such as Ryan Mason.
Tottenham’s season has taken a sharp turn. What started with hopes of competing in Europe has now become a fight to stay in the top division.
By letting Tudor go so quickly, chairman Daniel Levy has made it clear that the previous decision did not work. The focus now is on finding someone who can quickly restore confidence and guide the team away from danger.
