Nadal battled to win by two sets for the first time in a 15-year Grand Slam tournament to end a remarkable chapter in his incredible career, eliminating him by a distance of Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in helmet stakes.
His incredible 2-6 6-7 (5-7) 6-4 6-3 7-5 in five hours and 24 minutes was his second win at Melbourne Park – his first since 2009.

This makes him only the second person, after Djokovic, to win every Grand Slam title at least twice since the sport turned professional in 1968.
Nadal, playing in his 29th Grand Slam final, came under heavy early pressure from senior Medvedev, who is competing in his fourth grand final.
In those four matches, the Russian faced either Djokovic or Nadal who beat the 25-year-old in a thrilling final at the 2019 US Open.
