Therefore, Berbatov revealed that Chelsea and not Liverpool are likely to emerge victors after the match.

The Bulgarian striker said the match is going to be a very tough one which 90 minutes may not be sufficient enough to decide the winners.

The 41-year-old however, added that the current Champions League holders will later manage to carve out the victory.

Berbatov told Betfair: “This should be a League Cup final to savor, with the European champions taking on the Premier League title contenders and two of the best managers in the world, who know each other well, going up against each other.”

“Liverpool are in stunning form but, while Chelsea has struggled recently, I fancy the Blues to raise their game for this final.”

He added: “I don’t think it will be settled in 90 minutes and think the Blues could nick it in extra time.

“Chelsea 2-1 Liverpool.”
