Kano State Censorship Board has made a rule against movies that show or encourage cross-dressing and violence in the state.
Abba El-Mustapha, who heads the Kano State Censorship Board, shared this news on April 3rd after talking with people from the Kannywood industry.
The Board mentioned that they made this rule because many people were upset about these kinds of movies. They want to stop movies that might encourage young people to do bad things.

Abba El-Mustapha said, “We need to stop movies that go against our traditions and values just to get attention or make money.”
They asked everyone to tell them about any movies they see that break this rule.
They’ve given a month for movies with these themes to follow the new rule.
