Judge Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal Court in Abuja announced on Thursday, November 25, 2021, an ex parte application by the federal government for Jan Bindiga (word for gunman) and Jan Taada (word for terrorist) to be granted to terrorists.

The thugs mainly terrorized the northwestern geopolitical zone, specifically the states of Zamfara, Katsina, Sokoto and Kaduna.

The bandits have spread to the north and other parts of the country. Bandits have killed hundreds of innocent people and abducted several others, including students, some of whom are still being held and some of whom were injured in the attack.

According to him, bandits are herders and labeling them like that will cause more violence in the country. Meanwhile, Sheikh Gumi also said he stopped mediating with armed bandits after a court declared them terrorists. Before a federal court in Abuja declared the bandits’ terrorists, Gumi visited them in the forests of Zamfara and Niger.

He has also repeatedly asked the federal government to grant them a general amnesty, as extremists in the Niger Delta have done. Gumi states the bandits are terrorists and it is dangerous for her to continue fighting the bandits.
