“Political parties are like churches, and any church that you would like to go, you are free,” Otti remarked, emphasizing the fundamental right of individuals to choose their political affiliations. The exodus from the PDP to the APC in Abia State gained momentum in April, with key figures such as Anthony Agbazuere, former Chief of Staff to the state’s former governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, and five former commissioners making the switch. This movement continued into May, with notable figures like Cosmas Ndukwe, the former deputy speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, also defecting.
