At one point during the incident, one of the students can be seen grabbing the victim by his school uniform and dragging him across the ground. The attacker then proceeds to stomp on the boy’s chest and head while the victim cries out in pain. The footage also reveals that another student was recording the incident on a mobile phone while pleading with the attackers to stop the assault.

The disturbing nature of the video sparked outrage among Nigerians online, with many social media users condemning the act and calling for strict disciplinary measures against those involved. The incident also reignited conversations about bullying and violence among students in schools across the country.

Following the public backlash, authorities at Igbinedion Secondary School took swift disciplinary action. The school announced that the students directly involved in carrying out the assault had been expelled.

Meanwhile, the student who recorded the incident was suspended by the school administration for participating in the situation without intervening to stop it.

The case has also attracted the attention of the Edo State Police Command, which confirmed that it has begun investigating the incident.

In a statement released by the police spokesperson, Eno Ikioyedem, the command confirmed that disciplinary measures had already been taken by the school against the students involved.

Ikioyedem further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Monday Agbonika, has directed the Divisional Police Officer responsible for the area to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident to determine the full circumstances surrounding the attack.

The police spokesperson stressed that the command strongly condemns bullying, violence, and any form of intimidation among students. She also warned that anyone found responsible for such acts would face the full weight of the law.

“The Edo State Police Command strongly condemns acts of bullying, violence, or intimidation among students, and anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law,” the statement said.
