Nollywood actress Didi Ekanem and entrepreneur Sandra Iheuwa have publicly criticized Afrobeat superstar Wizkid for mocking his colleague Davido just before his wedding.
The controversy started when Wizkid made a public remark about Davido and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland, shortly before their wedding. Wizkid took to Twitter to pray for “understanding women,” a comment widely interpreted as a jab at Chioma for staying with Davido despite numerous allegations of infidelity.
Many found Wizkid’s comment hypocritical, pointing out that his own baby mama and manager, Jada Pollock, has been equally understanding in their relationship.
Didi Ekanem expressed her displeasure in the comment section of a blog, suggesting that Wizkid’s prayer was more suited for Jada, who has been with him for years without an official marriage.
“Not funny and childish. Perfect prayer for your woman because she needs it,” Ekanem commented.
Sandra Iheuwa, who has a child with Ubi Franklin, also joined the conversation, criticizing Wizkid for his hypocrisy.
“Pot calling kettle black,” she wrote.
Despite the backlash, many of Wizkid’s fans defended his comments, arguing that Davido deserved the mockery. This disagreement has fueled further tension between the fan bases of both artists.
