In preparation for an upcoming protest, security measures have been significantly strengthened at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal-II (MMA2) to ensure the safety and well-being of passengers. This heightened security effort is part of a proactive response to maintain order and protect lives and property at the airport.
Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd, the operator of the MMA2 terminal at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, has taken the lead in enhancing these security protocols. The company’s Head of Corporate Communications, Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, informed the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Lagos about the ongoing efforts.
“We are actively monitoring the situation and are in constant coordination with other security agencies to ensure the terminal remains safe for all passengers,” Yinka-Olawuyi stated. She emphasized that security has been bolstered at all access points to the terminal, reflecting the company’s commitment to safeguarding the airport.
Monica Oguta, the Head of Aviation Security at Bi-Courtney, also provided insight into the comprehensive security strategy being implemented. She said, “We have enlisted the support of the Nigerian Police Force, the military airport command, and other relevant security agencies to ensure that there is adequate protection of lives and property during the protest.”
Despite the anticipated protest, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that flight operations at MMA2 are proceeding normally as of Wednesday morning. The situation continues to be closely monitored to maintain a secure environment for all travelers.
These measures underscore the importance placed on passenger safety and the readiness of Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd to address any challenges that may arise.
