Eniola Ajao Issues Apology and Corrects Best Dressed Selection at Movie Premiere
Actress Eniola Ajao has publicly apologized to Nigerians for the controversy surrounding her decision to name Bobrisky as the ‘Best Dressed Female’ at the premiere of the movie “Beast of Two Worlds.”
In an Instagram post on Thursday, March 28, 2024, Ajao addressed the public, expressing regret and seeking forgiveness for the turmoil caused by the events at the premiere.
She began her statement by acknowledging her responsibility for the situation, stating, “Dear Esteemed Members of the Public, I write to you today with a heavy heart, filled with regret and remorse over the events that unfolded at my movie premiere, ‘Beast of Two Worlds’ ‘Ajakaju.’ #ajakajuthemovie on Sunday, 24th March, 2024. I address you all today, taking full responsibility and seeking your pardon with my deepest regrets for the distress and turmoil caused by the events surrounding the selection of Best Dressed at the premiere of ‘Ajakaju.'”
Ajao extended her apologies to the Muslim community, emphasizing her respect for the sacred month of Ramadan and clarifying that no offense was intended. She also apologized to women, reaffirming her reverence for womanhood and expressing regret for any actions that may have undermined it.
What was done to savage the situation
Furthermore, Ajao issued a special apology to veterans Femi Adebayo, his wife, and Dayo Amusa, who were involved in a social media dispute over the matter. She also apologized to Bobrisky, emphasizing that her intention was never to cause harm.
To rectify the situation, Ajao announced two new females as the Best Dressed attendees at the premiere, Bode Alao and another guest. As a gesture of her sincere apology, she pledged to award each of them ₦1,000,000.
It’s worth noting that Ajao previously admitted in an interview with Arise News TV that selecting Bobrisky was a deliberate decision aimed at promoting the movie.
