(FG) Federal Government Declares Public Holidays for Good Friday and Easter Monday

The Federal Government has officially declared Friday, March 29, and Monday, April 1, 2024, as public holidays in observance of Good Friday and Easter Monday respectively.

This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, acting on behalf of the federal government. The statement confirming the holidays was signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Aishetu Ndayako, on Wednesday.

Minister Tunji-Ojo emphasized the significance of Easter beyond its religious context, highlighting its promotion of values such as love, forgiveness, and compassion. These values, he noted, are crucial for fostering social cohesion and harmony in society.
