PSC gives police 2 weeks to conclude investigation on Abba Kyari

The PSC said an investigation should be carried out by another body.
A police commission has ordered police to complete an investigation into a $1.1 million fraud deal involving Abba Kyari and Instagram star Ramon Abbas, better known as Hushpupi, within two weeks.
Abba Kyari served as head of the Intelligence Response Team until his dismissal in August 2021.

The top official was removed after being convicted of conspiring in a report by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation.

However, in continuation of the 14th plenary session, which ended in Abuja on February 11, 2022, the commission urged the police to speed up the investigation into allegations of fraud against Kyari.

In a statement signed by the head of the press and public relations department, PSC’s Ikechukwu Ani said the investigation should be carried out by another body.

Meanwhile, Attorney General Abubakar Malami (SAN) revealed that the federal and US governments are discussing the possible extradition of the ousted deputy police commissioner.
