Veteran Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has publicly responded to Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti for his stance on a controversy involving social media activist Verydarkman. Ojo highlighted how Verydarkman accused her of accepting N65 million to seek justice for the late artist Mohbad.
Seun Kuti had shown support for Verydarkman, who was recently re-arrested by the police over defamation charges. In her address to Kuti, Iyabo Ojo explained her reasons for pursuing a legal case against Verydarkman.
Ojo clarified that the activist accused her and others of taking N65 million from people to fight for justice for Mohbad Aloba, a former signee of Marlain Music. She emphasized that she wouldn’t have taken issue with Verydarkman if he hadn’t explicitly defamed her by accusing her of accepting such a large sum.
Contrary to Verydarkman’s allegations, Iyabo Ojo revealed that she used her own money to hire legal representation during Mohbad’s case. She also recounted how her husband, Paulo Okoye, had advised her to drop the case, only for Verydarkman to target Okoye following Davido’s grand wedding.
