Lagos State has recently benefitted from the addition of 13 new Band A feeders, thanks to approval from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission.

The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) confirmed this development, citing their consistent delivery of a minimum of 20 hours of daily electricity as the basis for approval. In a statement posted on IKEDC’s Twitter on Wednesday, they stated, “Based on our demonstrated ability to consistently provide a minimum of 20 hours of daily electricity during a performance evaluation period monitored by the regulator, we are pleased to announce the approval of 13 new Band A feeders into our network.”

The newly upgraded feeders include:

This upgrade increases IKEDC’s total number of feeders from 128 to 141.

In related news, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has issued a warning to Distribution Companies (DisCos), threatening sanctions if they fail to complete the STS meter migration by July 31, 2024.
