Neve Campbell recognized for her impact in the horror movie titled ‘Scream‘, is no new face when it comes to fighting for her life. This time, not against masked assassins in Woodsboro.
In an interview with The Kelly Clarkson Show, she told a story of how she was able to survive from a bear attack when she was 17 years of age on a movie set.
In the interview, Neve Campbell didn’t reveal on what movie set she got attacked but she took time to describe how the incident was:
‘I was in the role where I would be the one with the wild animals, and there was a part where I would get chased by a real bear,’ Campbell stated.
‘They brought out the big bear on the production set, and first, I was given a huge amount of coke to give to it. After giving the coke to it, they told me to dip my hand into the honey and just run. When you get to the big tree over there, just turn your hand out and give it to feed on.’
‘I put my hand in the honey, and did as they instructed. I ran to the rock and I stick my hands out, and the bear isn’t slowing down neither is it coming for the honey,’ She said. ‘The bear grabs me by my legs and drags me to the forest.’
‘My mother was visiting me on the set and she was already screaming when she saw that. At this point, the whole crew was shock because no body could believe what they were seeing,’ She explained. “At this point all I could just scream was ‘he’s biting me,’ as if it wasn’t clear to them.”
This didn’t last long as it was revealed that she was later rescued by the productions ‘bear wrangler’ who immediately began throwing stones and objects at the bear to distract it from consuming me.’ She came out of the scene luckily without injuries that were life-threatening. She went on to describe the experience as ‘silly’.
After that incident she surprised everyone when she insisted on the scene to be retaken again. This action she took surprised the directors and everyone in the production set. She said:
“They were like, No, that was a rehearsal. We didn’t capture that scene on camera let’s start the scene again.'”
The actress later promoted her latest work, which will see the appearance of top actors like Courtney Cox, Jack Quaid, David Arquette and Jenna Ortega.
