Eric Chelle, head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, has announced a 23-man squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Iran and Jordan, with star striker Victor Osimhen notably left out.
The matches, originally scheduled to take place in Amman, Jordan, have now been moved to Antalya, Turkey, due to ongoing military tensions in the Middle East. Nigeria will face Iran on March 27 before taking on Jordan on March 31.
Chelle’s squad features several key players, including captain Wilfred Ndidi, midfielder Alex Iwobi, and forward Ademola Lookman. However, the absence of Osimhen has drawn attention, given his importance to the national team.

The list also includes regular names such as goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, defender Semi Ajayi, midfielder Frank Onyeka, and attackers Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, Akor Adams, and Paul Onuachu.
There are also fresh faces in the squad, with three players earning their first call-ups. These include Scotland-based defender Emmanuel Fernandez, Germany-based forward Philip Otele, and Belgium-based attacker Collins Yira Sor. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye returns to the team.
