Portable is reaching out to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with a heartfelt plea, urging them not to pursue legal action against him for his involvement in spraying money, a practice deemed as defacing the Nigerian currency.
Following the recent arrest of Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, for similar actions, Portable, a singer known for his generous gestures of showering cash on fans during performances, took to social media to express his concerns.
In an Instagram live session on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, Portable addressed his followers, emphasizing his innocence and appealing for leniency from the authorities. He stressed his commitment to supporting others, urging his fans to transition from receiving physical cash to utilizing bank transfers for financial transactions.
“I never intended to abuse the Naira. I’ve always sought to assist people. Please forgive me. Moving forward, I’ll refrain from spraying money. Instead, let’s focus on electronic transactions,” he conveyed earnestly to his audience.

Portable’s plea for understanding comes amidst heightened scrutiny from the EFCC towards individuals involved in defacing the national currency. Just days prior, the EFCC had successfully prosecuted the prominent socialite, Bobrisky, resulting in a six-month prison sentence.
With the recent arrest of Cubana Chief Priest, Portable is keenly aware of the potential consequences of his actions and hopes to avoid a similar fate. He acknowledges the gravity of the situation and is committed to cooperating with the authorities moving forward.
