Dangote Group’s chairman, Aliko Dangote, is rolling out aid across Nigeria to help ease economic difficulties. Starting with a million people, each will receive a 10kg bag of rice.
He began this initiative in Kano, providing 120,000 bags of rice to support the less fortunate, as reported by TVC News. Dangote mentioned this action is particularly aimed at assisting during Ramadan.

In Kano, the first phase will reach one million people, each receiving a 10kg bag of rice. Kano state, among other states, received its share of 120,000 bags in a ceremony held at the government house, hosted by Governor Abba Yusuf.
Governor Yusuf of Kano expressed gratitude for Dangote’s gesture, stating it came at a crucial time when many are struggling. Dangote believes this aid will help combat hunger and contribute to long-term solutions for communities nationwide.
Ogun State’s Rice Initiative: Rice sold at affordable prices
In a similar move, the government of Ogun State has purchased 100 truckloads of rice to sell at reduced prices to its residents. This aims to alleviate the burden of high food costs.
Governor Abiodun’s Confirmation
Governor Dapo Abiodun confirmed the initiative during a meeting in Abeokuta, the state capital. He shared on his social media account that the rice would be sold at prices similar to those before the recent price hikes, making it more affordable for the people.
