Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reached another milestone in his career after winning the latest Premier League Manager of the Month award, further cementing his place among the league’s most successful coaches.
The Spaniard guided City through an impressive February run, with the team going unbeaten and regaining strong momentum in the league.
Guardiola moves up the all-time list
The February recognition marks Guardiola’s 12th Manager of the Month award in the Premier League. The achievement moves him ahead of former Manchester United manager David Moyes, who previously shared the same total with 11 awards.
Guardiola now sits alone in third place on the league’s all-time list. Only two managers remain ahead of him: legendary former United boss Alex Ferguson with 27 awards and former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger with 15.
Although Guardiola has enjoyed tremendous success since arriving in England, this latest honour is particularly significant as it ends a long wait. His previous Manager of the Month award came back in December 2021.
Despite that gap, his impact at Manchester City has remained clear, with the team consistently competing at the highest level under his leadership.
Strong February run seals the award
Guardiola earned the award after leading City to an unbeaten run in February, collecting 13 points — the highest total by any team during the month.
City began the month with a draw against Tottenham Hotspur but quickly bounced back with four important victories.
Those wins came against strong opposition, including Liverpool, as well as key matches against Fulham, Newcastle United, and Leeds United, helping push City further up the league table.
Guardiola beat competition from several other nominees, including Keith Andrews of Brentford, Michael Carrick of Manchester United, and Arne Slot of Liverpool.
The award capped a strong month for Manchester City, with forward Antoine Semenyo also claiming the EA Sports Player of the Month prize.
