"I Was Tired of Mum Trekking Every Day" – Singer Rema Reveals What Drove Him to Pursue Music

In a revealing interview with Capital Xtra London, Rema shared the story of his mother’s struggles with transportation, which inspired him to aim for success in the music industry.

“I was tired of my mum trekking every day; she didn’t even have money for transport to use a bus or bike. So I had to take it to the next level ASAP,” Rema explained.

“The moment I made money, I got her a car ASAP. We went for dinner, then I gave her that car. A lot of boys would go for their own cars first, but I was still trekking. I had to get a car for my mum first. She’s a great mum. She’s the reason I’m successful. Her prayers. She’s really proud of me.”

In other news, Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan, also known as Madrina, has issued a stern warning to Mavin Records regarding the alleged misconduct of their artists.

On her official Instagram page, Cynthia Morgan voiced her concerns over Rema’s smoking habits and criticized Ayra Starr’s attire during her meeting with American actor Will Smith.

In her Instagram story, the outspoken dancehall artist criticized Ayra Starr’s frequent choice of skimpy outfits during public appearances. She advised Ayra that there is more to life than music and performances.

Cynthia Morgan also threatened to confront the Mavin Records office if Rema’s smoking habit resulted in any negative consequences.

She wrote:

“Meeting Will Smith dressed up like that? There is more to life than music and stage performances my dear @ayrastarr.

“And that Rema, holding a cigar he doesn’t even know how to smoke. If anything happens to that boy, Mavins, I will find your office.”

It is worth noting that Ayra Starr recently had dinner with Hollywood actor Will Smith in Rome after impressing fans with a spectacular performance at a Coldplay concert.
