The Taliban has issued a new decision that recommends that cutting back from shaving or beard trimming, saying such actions are prohibited in Islam.
It came a few days after the ruler of the Afghan Taliban imposed restrictions on trips in women, stating that women should not travel remotely without relative men who escort them.
The ministry for the promotion of virtue and prevention of representatives issued a copy of the instruction this week which is expected to live by Afghanistan.
A Taliban official shares the original order in Pashto.
When contacted by VOA, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid did not deny the authenticity of the order but he was still “” trying to get information “about the decision.
The order quotes a number of verses from the Quran and Hadith, or said, about following whatever the Prophet Muhammad told Muslims.
“Growing beards is a natural deed and Sunnah [Law and Precedent ways] of all Islamic prophets and Islamic sharia has repeatedly emphasized it,” according to instructions.
The order was signed by the minister to promote the virtue and prevention of the representative, Sheikh Muhammad Khalid Haqqani.
Orders added to: “Shaving or cutting beards is prohibited under the round decision by religious scholars. Prophet Muhammad’s friends, their followers, their successors, Mujahidin [holy warriors] and other scholars disagree with shaving or cut beards or cut beards.
“So, it is understood that shaving or trimming beards against human nature and its action against Islamic sharia.
