President Bola Ahmed Tinubu believes that the future of Nigerian children will improve with the student loan scheme. It’s reported that Tinubu stated, “It is only through education that we can fight poverty.” He directed criticism towards his political rivals, accusing them of hindering the nation’s progress.
In FCT, Abuja, President Bola Tinubu stated that rivals are resistant to Nigeria’s growth. According to a statement from Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesman, Tinubu assured that with Nigerians’ support, the country will fulfill its potential.
The president highlighted that the future of Nigerian children will be brighter with the enactment of the Student Loans Re-enactment Bill. He made this statement during an evening gathering on Wednesday, April 3, where he hosted members of the APC presidential campaign council (PCC) and the independent campaign council (ICC) to Iftar at the state house in Abuja.

Tinubu’s Commitment to Education and Poverty Alleviation
Tinubu emphasized, “The only way to combat poverty is through education.” He underscored the significance of the Student Loan Scheme, which he signed into law that same day. Reflecting on the challenges faced by children from low-income families, he questioned how to assure them of a better future without access to education. Tinubu reiterated that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and expressed optimism for the children’s prospects.
Moreover, Tinubu took the opportunity to reassure Nigerians about the economy. He stated that efforts are being made to steer the economy towards sustainable growth and prosperity for families across the country.
Tinubu’s Confidence in Progress
Tinubu addressed the state of the economy, stating, “The economy is showing improvement. While we face challenges like inflation, we are committed to reducing it.” He acknowledged past concerns regarding the exchange rate but assured that diligent efforts have been made to stabilize it, resulting in positive trends. Tinubu also noted a decrease in borrowing compared to a year ago, highlighting efforts to reform the financial sector and expand revenue. He emphasized the importance of reclaiming Nigeria’s sovereignty and earning respect internationally.
Regarding achieving positive outcomes, Tinubu addressed the APC presidential campaign council, expressing confidence that their resources, dedication, and hard work could propel Nigeria forward. He mentioned ongoing efforts to re-engineer the administration and improve the country’s revenue situation.
