Tinubu's Address Fails to Address Protesters' Demands – Bauchi #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria Leaders Respond

Zaki conveyed to our reporter that Tinubu’s broadcast did not respond to the concerns raised by the protesters. He remarked, “The president’s speech did not address or offer solutions to the issues faced by the ordinary people. The only reason we are considering easing the protests in Bauchi North is due to the disruptive actions of hoodlums during the demonstrations, which have negatively impacted local businesses.”

Zaki continued, “The broadcast overlooked our demands and those of the general public. However, in light of the unfortunate disturbances caused by some individuals, we are contemplating a suspension of the protests to open a channel for dialogue as requested by the president. We believe that meaningful dialogue is crucial for resolving conflicts.”

He added, “Should dialogue prove ineffective, we urge our national assembly representatives to step up and take necessary actions. These representatives are elected to voice our concerns, and the president’s speech indicates a lack of understanding of our demands. We are prepared to give dialogue a chance, but if no progress is made, our national representatives in both the House of Representatives and the Senate must act decisively.”

Zaki emphasized that the decision to scale back the protests in Bauchi North was not a response to the President’s request, but rather a consideration of the difficulties faced by local business owners due to the actions of hoodlums.
