Zack Orji, a well-known actor, has faced some serious health challenges lately. Emeka Rollas, the head of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), talked about Zack’s situation in a recent interview to clear up some rumors.
Rollas clarified that Zack hasn’t passed away, despite what some people have been saying online. He criticized those who spread false news just to get attention on social media.
According to Rollas, Zack has actually had two surgeries for his brain, but he’s doing okay. He emphasized that Zack isn’t in critical condition and is speaking normally. However, Zack needs some follow-up care, so they’re working on sending him abroad for further treatment.
Rollas also mentioned that they’re gathering funds to support Zack’s medical expenses. He expressed his frustration with the false rumors, highlighting the insensitivity of spreading such news about someone’s health.

Amaechi Muonagor’s death
Regarding the passing of actor Amaechi Muonagor, Mr. Rollas disclosed that the actor’s condition had deteriorated rapidly before he was taken to the hospital. Funds raised for him were intended for his critical care in the intensive unit.
Mr. Rollas dismissed actor Kingsley Orji’s assertion that Amaechi needed a kidney transplant in India. He explained that Amaechi’s health condition, notably diabetes, made him unsuitable for such a procedure. Mr. Rollas visited Amaechi on December 2, 2023, and confirmed this.
He criticized actors who unlawfully solicit funds for sick colleagues, deeming it disrespectful to the industry. Mr. Rollas stressed that before seeking funds for medical treatment abroad, the Guild ensures all necessary documents, including cost estimates and medical referrals, are in order.
Mr. Rollas cited a similar situation involving Mr. Ibu, where despite intentions to send him abroad, hospitals in India and the United States declined due to his prognosis. They deemed the journey risky for someone in his condition.
