A wave of panic spread through a part of Lagos State on Monday when over 100 hoodlums launched an assault on the Ipaja Police Station.
Eyewitnesses reported that the attack quickly escalated into a fierce gunfight between the attackers and the police officers stationed there. The ensuing battle left several of the assailants dead.
The violent incident struck fear into the hearts of local residents, who were alarmed by the sounds of gunfire echoing through their neighborhood.
In response to the attack, additional police personnel were swiftly dispatched to the area to provide reinforcement and restore order.
