Zulu Adigwe, a well-known face in Nollywood and celebrated for his memorable portrayal of Mr. B in Ken Saro-Wiwa’s acclaimed soap opera ‘Basi and Company’ (1987), has passed away. The sad news was confirmed by movie producer Stanley Nwoko through a heartfelt announcement on Instagram.
“I deeply regret to inform you of the passing of the esteemed actor, Zulu Adigwe. The circumstances surrounding his demise remain undisclosed. May he rest in peace, a true talent lost,” expressed Nwoko in his social media post.
As of now, the exact cause of his death has not been disclosed.
Adigwe’s most recent notable role was as Pascal Nworie in Ramsey Nouah’s reimagining of the iconic ‘Living in Bondage’.
Interestingly, Adigwe’s journey into acting wasn’t a direct path. Initially pursuing a career in Medicine at the University of Austria, he later shifted gears after returning to Nigeria following his father’s demise. It was then that he delved into Theatre Arts at the University of Ibadan.
Throughout his illustrious career, Adigwe graced the screens with his talent in various Nollywood productions, including ‘Blood of the Orphan’, ‘Blood Diamonds’, ‘Face of a Liar’, ‘Unforgettable’, ‘Issakaba’, and ‘Forbidden Land’.
