Investigation Unveils Discriminatory Practices by the Chinese supermarket

On Monday, April 22, 2024, FCCPC officials conducted a surprise visit to the supermarket premises. However, upon arrival, they discovered that the owner, Cindy Liu Bei, had absconded with her family. CCTV footage confirmed their departure at 8:26 am, just before the arrival of the FCCPC team.

Boladale Adeyinka, the Director for Surveillance and Investigation at FCCPC, addressed the media following the closure of the supermarket. She emphasized the purpose of their visit, stating that it aimed to verify the allegations of discrimination circulating on social media.

Adeyinka confirmed that the supermarket had been sealed externally, indicating the seriousness of the matter. Moreover, she revealed that if the owner fails to appear before the commission tribunal, the supermarket will remain closed.
