Nigerian international superstar Asake has firmly cemented his reputation as one of Afrobeats’ most reliable hitmakers, earning numerous accolades for his music along the way.

Asake recently unveiled a new track titled ‘Active,’ featuring the renowned American rapper and producer Travis Scott. This release comes ahead of Asake’s much-anticipated third album, Lungu Boy.

Released on August 7, ‘Active’ blends the energetic Amapiano log drums with Dance music elements, crafting a vibrant and party-ready anthem. Asake also shared the tracklist for Lungu Boy, revealing exciting collaborations with big names like Wizkid, Central Cee, Stormzy, and Ludmilla.

Among the album’s highlights are ‘Only Me’ and ‘Wave,’ tracks recorded with Central Cee in 2024, both of which will be featured on Lungu Boy.

This new record comes as Asake gears up for his upcoming Lungu Boy tour, which includes major performances at the iconic O2 Arena, where he previously headlined in 2023, and at the legendary Madison Square Garden. This makes Asake only the fourth Nigerian artist to headline at the Garden, further solidifying his international acclaim.

With Lungu Boy marking his third album in just three years, Asake continues to define an era with his series of hit records.

Since breaking into the mainstream, Asake’s rise has been steady and impressive. At the 2023 Headies Awards, his debut album Mr. Money With The Vibes clinched the Album of the Year award. His sophomore album, Work of Art, featured the hit single ‘Lonely At The Top,’ which set a record for the longest-charting song on the TurnTable Top 100.
