Uzor Arukwe has responded to rumours linking him to the reported marital issues of actress and reality TV star BamBam following their roles in the film Love in Every Word.
The Nollywood actor addressed the speculation during a recent interview on the BBC Igbo service, where he explained that his working relationship with BamBam was strictly professional despite the intense on screen chemistry seen in the movie.
Arukwe revealed that he was careful and respectful while filming intimate scenes with his co star. According to him, he made sure to ask for her boundaries before any physical contact during filming.

“Before I touched her, I asked her if there was any way I could touch her that her husband wouldn’t like or that might cause problems at home. That movie was the first time I had ever met her. But people started saying we slept together and were dating, which was completely false,” he said.
He added that his role as an actor is simply to make scenes believable, stressing that the rumours circulating online have no connection to reality.

The clarification comes after speculation spread online suggesting that BamBam’s marriage was experiencing difficulties, with some social media users pointing fingers at her co star because of their convincing performances in Love in Every Word Parts 1 and 2. The film’s intimate scenes, which helped drive its popularity with viewers, sparked rumours that their relationship went beyond the set.
Arukwe’s interview was meant to set the record straight and dismiss those claims.
The situation also highlights a recurring issue in the entertainment industry, where audiences sometimes struggle to separate actors from the characters they portray. When performances are convincing, speculation about real life relationships can easily follow.
It is also important to remember that BamBam, like any professional actor, chose to take on the role herself. Actors are expected to deliver believable performances, and strong on screen chemistry should not automatically lead to assumptions about their personal lives.
Love in Every Word, produced as part of Nollywood’s growing wave of premium content, performed strongly with audiences and further strengthened the profiles of both actors as rising talents in the industry.
