The three‑year marriage between Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi and his wife Prophetess Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi has officially ended. Naomi announced her decision publicly in December 2021, saying she could no longer continue in the marriage.

She said she now prefers to be known as “queen of the people and mother of my adorable prince.” In her statement, she explained that she could no longer maintain the public image of perfection and had to step away from the role after three years.
She hinted that her choice to leave was driven by a need for authenticity and personal peace. Naomi also said she saw different sides of the monarch during their marriage, describing him as “unpredictable” while still acknowledging aspects of his personality.

Shortly after Naomi’s announcement, the palace issued a statement saying it was investigating the possibility that her Instagram account had been hacked. The palace also noted that the Ooni had sent Christmas gifts to Naomi before the news broke, calling into question whether the separation was confirmed at that time.

“I bless the Lord almighty for His faithfulness in the last 3years of my marriage. In life’s journey, it isn’t how far. Still, how well, indeed though satan should buffet if trials should come, I have this blessed assurance controlling all situations and saying to me it is well with my soul. Certainly, it is well. I made my journey into the ancient throne of Ife with faith in my heart and love for the keeper of it.
Few impressions I would love to correct. If anyone knows otherwise, they are free to come up with facts. Let it be known that this decision to move on did not come because his majesty is married to another queen. As many would love to assume, throughout our life as a couple, I was the only married wife to him. There were side attractions, but it was never an issue.
I never approached him with any revelation of any sort, as many believed he contacted me first and made his proposal known several months later.
The marriage was not an arranged one, as many have misconstrued. I never knew the prophetess said to have introduced me to him. Instead, he introduced her to me after I agreed to marry him. I was only being polite out of respect for him.

She also dismissed allegations that she already had another child before her marriage to the monarch.
“Today I announce the beginning of a new dawn and the close of a chapter. Today, I am a mother to God’s unique gift. I am no longer a slave to my thoughts of perfection,” she said.
The couple has a baby, Tadenikawo, who was born last year.
Oba Ogunwusi has been married two other times in the past, with both also crashing.

After her separation from the Ooni, Naomi announced she would focus more on her spiritual calling and return to full‑time evangelism. She said this new chapter in her life marked a fresh beginning and a redirection of her purpose.
The Ooni, on his part, moved forward with his personal life after the split. In 2022, he welcomed a new wife, Mariam Anako, into his household, officially marrying her months after Naomi’s departure.
