Pastor Kelvin Okafor, the leader of an Abuja-based church, has sparked controversy after reportedly leaving his wife and four children to marry the women’s leader of his church clandestinely in an Owerri hotel.

Pastor Allegedly Abandons Wife, Secretly Marries Church Leader in Hotel

The head of Jesus Divine Solution and Deliverance Outreach on Arab Road, Abuja, is accused of abandoning his wife of 17 years, Mrs. Chidiebere Okafor, in favor of Mrs. Chinenye Jessica Nwaneri, a divorcee and the church’s women’s leader.

Sources reveal that the traditional marriage took place discreetly at a hotel in Owerri, Imo State, on Saturday, June 22, apparently to avoid public scrutiny, given that Pastor Okafor is still legally married to his first wife.

Attendees at the ceremony were reportedly instructed not to take photos or videos, although an undercover journalist managed to witness the event.

According to reports, Mrs. Chidiebere Okafor remains unaware that her husband, with whom she is legally married, has allegedly broken their marital vows with another woman.

Interestingly, Pastor Okafor’s new wife, an Ordained Elder in the church, is said to be fully aware of his ongoing legal marriage to Mrs. Chidiebere.

The pastor’s actions have drawn criticism from many quarters, with some condemning him for allegedly violating religious teachings and betraying his loyal wife who supported him during difficult times.
