Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola found herself in a clash with her fellow actor, Jigan Babaoja, after he criticized her for a video she posted recently. In the video, Wumi mimicked Jigan’s walking style while on the set of her upcoming movie project.
Jigan, who felt offended by the video, threatened legal action against Wumi, accusing her of insensitivity towards his condition and others facing similar challenges. He even reposted the video with a caption suggesting he would pursue the matter legally: “You’ll explain in court on Monday! @wumitoriola I will force any court to open on Monday over this case! Onyemilenuuuuuuuuu!”
Undeterred by Jigan’s threats, Wumi Toriola responded defiantly, questioning his authority to monopolize representation within the ‘handicapped’ community. She pointed out that he is not the sole individual with a disability and challenged him to proceed with his legal actions, unafraid of the consequences. In her words, “Ha Agbakan na, who give you license to monopolise the industry? Who? @jiganbabaojo, do your worst, imagine. Are you the only hand!capped in the world. Do your worst, I am ready.”
Jigan fired back, warning Wumi that she would face repercussions once he pursued legal action against her. “Answer a few questions ooo. Do you have an ID? Your own na injection or motor jam you? You don price madam,” he remarked in the comment section.
The confrontation between the two actors has sparked discussion online, highlighting issues of sensitivity and representation within the entertainment industry.
