Popular socialite and divorcee Korra Obidi has opened up about why being single can be advantageous in the entertainment industry. She shared insights on her flourishing career post-divorce during a recent interview on the “Heroes Diary” show.
Korra Obidi, a single mother of two, discussed how marriage can sometimes restrict opportunities in the industry. She pointed out that while people are initially excited and supportive when someone gets married and starts a family, this enthusiasm often wanes over time. As a result, married individuals may find themselves receiving fewer invitations to shows and offers to appear in movies.
In contrast, Obidi observed that when someone becomes single again, there is a resurgence of interest and sympathy from the public. This renewed attention can lead to more bookings and opportunities.
Korra Obidi concluded that being single is ultimately beneficial in the entertainment industry. She stated, “One thing about us humans is that when somebody’s married, people don’t seem to like them as much anymore. They might say ‘ahh happy married life’ but then think ‘she can’t be on my show’ or ‘she can’t be in my movie’. But now that I’m single, I’m getting booked back-to-back, so it’s good for me. I think being single is good in the industry.”
