Famed footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has broken the record for the most liked comment on social media. This achievement came after he congratulated Kylian Mbappe on his transfer from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to Real Madrid.
Mbappe signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid, joining on a free transfer. His new annual salary at Real Madrid is €15 million (£12.8 million), a decrease from the €25 million (£21.4 million) he earned at PSG.
Expressing his joy and pride, Mbappe shared, “I am happy and proud to join the club of my dreams,” along with a series of nostalgic photos of himself in Real Madrid gear.
One of these photos includes a young Mbappe posing with Ronaldo during Ronaldo’s time at Real Madrid. The iconic Portuguese forward responded fittingly to Mbappe’s post.
Cristiano Ronaldo commented, “My turn to watch. Excited to see you light up the Bernabeu. #HalaMadrid.”
This comment received over 4 million likes on Instagram, setting the record for the most liked comment ever on the platform.
